About this Role

We are seeking a Software Quality Assurance Engineer to support the full software testing life cycle.  This includes requirements validation, test planning, test case identification & development, development of test automation frameworks, functional testing,  and other performance, stress, platform and user acceptance testing across FIRST's programs.  If you’ve worked in Software Quality Assurance and are a proactive problem solver and innovative solutionist with an outside the box thinking mentality, we want to hear from you!

Reports to: Manager, Business Solutions.  This role is located in Manchester, NH.

The Details

  • Be responsible for all steps of the ongoing Software Testing Life Cycle (STLC) including but not limited to; requirements analysis, test planning, writing and reviewing test cases, executing test cases, and bug logging, tracking and closing.
  • Work closely with management and technical leads for software development and maintenance.
  • Develop test cases based on requirements and lead testing efforts (functional, integration, regression, user acceptance, load and stress, etc.).
  • Develop regression test scripts.
  • Develop and maintain an automated test environment
  • Conduct functional, integration, regression, and stress/load tests.
  • Coordinate and collaborate with others in analyzing requirements or user stories to ensure identified testing solutions and meet customer needs and expectations
  • Verify test results via the application and the backend by running database queries.
  • Manage/update/maintain requirements, use cases, test cases, traceability matrix, regression test results, and other support documents.
  • Report test metrics to manager.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree preferred, in engineering related discipline
  • Minimum of 5 years directly related experience
  • Experience with requirements management and regression test tools
  • Experience with regression test script; automation tools (e.g, Selenium); test management tools (e.g, TFS) are highly desirable
  • Testing skills to develop test cases/traceability matrix based on requirements and lead testing efforts (functional, integration, and regression testing etc.)
  • SQL skills, to develop queries for verifying test results
  • Experience in authoring test plans, test cases and test reports
  • Experience in working in Agile environment desired
