About this Role

We are seeking a Senior Applications Software Developer who designs, modifies, develops, writes and implements application software and components; installs application software and components; works from written specifications and pre-established guidelines to perform the functions of the job and maintains documentation of process flow in a .Net environment and using Test Driven Development (TDD). This position will provide technical and end-user support along with assistance in supporting business systems.  If you are an experienced engineer that can come up with solutions to complex problems, who leads by example, writing pragmatic but elegant code with technical rigor and attention to detail, as well as someone who enjoys collaboration and supports and mentors team members, this is the job for you.

Reports to: Manager, Business Solutions.  This role is located in Manchester, NH.

The Details

  • Using Test Driven Development (TDD) methods, code, test and troubleshoot programs utilizing the appropriate hardware, database, and programming technology using prescribed specifications.
  • General programming in multiple languages
  • Integration of programs to databases and ERP systems
  • Working in a strong team environment with direct contact with users
  • Self-directed and able to set requirements and schedules
  • Knowledge of SCRUM and basic project management
  • Awareness with GIT or other version control systems
  • Work, consult, and collaborate with colleagues as well as users
  • Ability to consult and communicate closely with IT leader and software development team leader
  • Support complex or critical business processes/systems and may require design or integration of technical solutions that may cross multiple functions of the business
  • Investigate and resolve application functionality related issues and provide support and troubleshooting of production systems
  • Develop and deploy solutions independently and as a team member (DevOps)
  • Guide and help lower level developers in test-driven development (TDD) design/implementation.
  • Project Management in the Agile methodologies

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree required; Master's degree preferred, in engineering related discipline
  • Minimum of 5 years directly related experience; 7 plus years preferred.
  • Expertise with Test Driven Development
  • Proven experience with Behavior Driven Development, Continuous Integration, Automated Regression Testing and Team Foundation Server
  • Utilize established development tools, guidelines and conventions including but not limited to .NET, SQL, HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and C#
  •  Proficiency using Microsoft Office products including MS Office 365
  • Understanding of LAMP: Linux, Apache, MySQL, SpecFlow and PHP is a plus
