The salary range for this position is $70,965 - $80,329. New hires typically start within this range based on their qualifications, experience, and considerations of internal equity.

Who You Are
You are excited to support the growth of all FIRST programs in the Utah and Idaho regions/ territories! Working locally and from your home office, you will build and maintain a passionate, volunteer driven, self-sustaining group of leaders who focus on engaging schools, encouraging local relationships, and fundraising as we grow FIRST Robotics Competition.

What You Will Do
Working locally from your home office, you will serve as the primary representative for the FIRST Robotics Competition (FRC) in your region or territory. You will lead efforts to ensure the long-term growth, sustainability, and success of FRC teams and events in collaboration with local stakeholders, volunteers, and FIRST staff. Additionally, you will:

  • Support and sustain FRC teams, providing ongoing guidance and resources to help teams thrive; refer rookie leads to Business Development staff as appropriate.
  • Plan and execute FRC Regional competitions, ensuring compliance with FIRST standards and alignment with regional budgets and cost-containment expectations.
  • Lead and support volunteer Regional Planning Committees, recruiting and sustaining members to carry out all essential event activities.
  • Fundraise to cover FRC program expenses and events, meeting annual goals through cultivating new sponsors, stewarding existing relationships, and writing grant proposals.
  • Serve as liaison among Regional Planning Committees, Field Operations, and FIRST HQ, ensuring effective communication and alignment.
  • Collaborate with FIRST LEGO® League, FIRST Tech Challenge partners, and FIRST Senior Mentor(s) to support cross-program communication and mentoring in the region.
  • Engage with local businesses, schools, policymakers, and community leaders to raise awareness and support for the FIRST mission.
  • Coordinate or support off-season efforts such as volunteer and team recruitment, VIP engagement, and bridging students from FTC to FRC.
  • Collaborate with Program Delivery Organizations to advance state-level initiatives, focusing on education policy, grant opportunities, and career and technical education.
  • Fulfill reporting, sales forecasting, training, and compliance requirements in alignment with FIRST policies and timelines.

What We Expect
We are seeking candidates with the following knowledge, skills, and experience:

  • Typically requires a BS/BA in related discipline and generally requires at least 5 years of directly related experience
  • Proven fundraising experience in a non-profit or for-profit business
  • Exceptional relationship management and collaboration skills
  • Excellent organizational and oral/written communication skills
  • Demonstrated budget management and financial reporting skills
  • Attendance at the FIRST annual community conference required
  • Ability and willingness for regular travel
  • FIRST experience/knowledge strongly preferred
