About this Role

We are seeking an Applications Software Developer who is responsible for applying professional software development life cycle knowledge to the development, expansion and maintenance of FIRST Systems. The successful candidate has thorough knowledge of C# programming language as well as in depth knowledge of various web and network analysis utilities such as HTML, CSS, Javascript, and Apache. Reports to: Manager, Business Solutions.  This role is located in Manchester, NH

The Details

  • Code, test and troubleshoot programs utilizing the appropriate hardware, database, and programming technology using prescribed specifications.
  • Evaluate simple interrelationships between programs such as whether a contemplated change in one part of a program would cause unwanted results in a related part.
  • Analyze performance of programs and take action to correct deficiencies based on consultation with users and approval of supervisor.
  • Confer with users to gain understanding of needed changes or modifications of existing programs.
  • Resolve questions of program intent, data input, output requirements, and inclusion of internal checks and controls.
  • Write and maintain programming documentation.
  • Maintain confidentiality with regard to the information being processed, stored or accessed.
  • Assist personnel of other departments as a computer resource.
  • Interact with staff members and vendors to gather requirements for FIRST IT systems and support of those systems

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree required; Master's degree preferred, in engineering related discipline
  • Minimum of 2 years directly related experience
  • Thorough knowledge C# programming language, along with familiarity of other programming languages such as lasso, ruby on rails
  • Knowledge to support and maintain databases such as FileMaker, mySQL, MSSQL, and Access
  • In-depth knowledge of HTML, CSS, Javascript, Apache, and various web and network analysis utilities
